Methanol fuel cells– how cost-efficient are they? From CNET.com
“IdaTech, a fuel-cell manufacturer in Oregon, announced a smallish new fuel-cell power supply today, the 250-watt iGen. The announcement caught my eye because I’ve blogged about fuel cells before, and this time I was able to figure out the device’s approximate cost of operation, something that usually isn’t disclosed for fuel cells” from CNET.
Since I’ve posted a lot of negative things about ethanol from corn, I thought I would post another viewpoint, albeit on methanol and fuel cells in an effort to show that some uses of some alcohols may be excellent. This is still expensive, but it may have a market. JKB
